PLAVIX (clopidogrel bisulfate) and aspirin provide different, but complementary pathways to inhibit platelet aggregation. PLAVIX inhibits adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-induced platelet aggregation.
13 Aspirin works on the cyclo-oxygenase enzyme, thereby inhibiting thromboxane A2 (TXA2) production and reducing platelet aggregation promoted by that pathway.
